flywheel wanted for a 1998 a3 tdi

as title says need a new dual mass flywheel for a 1998 model 1.9 tdi (110 bhp) its the ahf engine, my mechanic took it apart and says flywheel is shot, clutch is only 3 months old,and only done 4000 miles, does anyone know where i can get a new flywheel without clutch kit that isnt gonna cost the earth! been quoted £190 for a flywheel alone...

That is cheap, from Audi they are only available with a clutch for £680. No one who knows what they are doing just fits a new clutch anymore as this is what happens.

Yep - in the aftermarket, the same oe flywheel is available separately. VAG only sell together as crasher says. £190 is cheap bud - and it cant be a dodgy import because currently no-one copies DFC flywheels such as the one youre on about.
