hello everyone,
i am new here so apologies if i look stupid or ask things that may have already been covered, but......
i bought my first golf last month a 1993 1.8 gl auto.
over the past 2 weeks it has developed a problem changing gear.
under normal driving it struggles to change up without over revving and for the past few days has refused to go into 4th without almost red lining it.
if i change up manually i.e use the selector to go from 1st to 2nd and then 3rd it changes perfectly and the car goes like a dream.
so my question is this could the fault just be with the auto selector thingy or is this a sign of worse much more expensive problems to come. :confused:
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
