Does anyone know if all mark v golfs have rear speakers fitted as standard?

I recently purchased a gt tdi 2.0 (54 reg) and there is no sound from rear speakers, local garage reckons there are none fitted???

Thanks for any advice or help!

I'm sure all UK spec cars had rear speakers. Is it an import ?

Is the wiring still fitted - so all i need to do is get 2 speakers??

As far as I'm aware the wiring is there, so yes just speakers should be all you need.
(Check before spending dosh though!!)

You'll most likely need some "pods" to mount them on, speak to someone at Bass Junkies 01902867728, they sorted out some for my car...

Also you might need a new stereo, some only have front outputs in them!

I test drove a 2005 personal import a couple of weeks before I bought my current car. It didn't have rear speakers. May be something perculiar to the country it was originally sold in.

I've noticed the same in my mk5. No rear speakers at all, just the 6 at the front. The rear doors have the space and grating for speakers but there are none there.
Should the wiring already be there, just needing an actual speaker?

I have also no rear speakers in my standard 1.4 Mk 5 Golf. Its an optional extra believe it or not according to the dealership. Parts guy I talked to said he wasnt quiet sure if wiring was there. Can anyone tell me if the wiring harness will be there. ie running right to the door from head unit. I have the standard RCD300 radio and altought it hasnt got a fader option on screen, and I havent taken the head unit out to look I reckon it will enable a fader option if the Rear speakers were connected.

I have a Norwegian spec B5 passat and also have no rear speakers. >The wiring is NOT present from th ehead unit to the position in the rear doors.
