ok, I'm really wondering what I can do with the in built phone system, everytime I tell it to make a call, its just telling me teh phone is not ready - and obviously, its because I don't have a phone fitted - what phone do I need to get exactly? - would be nice if it would hook up to my Palm Treo 680? this is all I can see which I guess needs some kind of connection:

any ideas anyone?

Either buy a cradle to fit your current phone from Audi - if it available.

Or just use the bluetooth side of it without the cradle. Try searching for devices on your phone to find the car. It should find something like "AUDI UHV7627", PIN code to connect should be 1234. Dont forget that you need to search within 5 minutes of switching on the ignition to enable your phone to find and pair with the car.

excellent, I did see AUDI something come up, I just thought it might be another car nearby. So I could use my phone via bluetooth then? excellent. will try it out. but I guess you can't dial any numbers? I'm going to search for cradles, what would be the best search term for uit? just Audi cradle+palm+treo?

You have RNS-E? If you do then you can make calls through the RNS-E. Also your contacts should display in the DIS and be selectable with the MFSW.

Have a read of your manual!

I think you will be very lucky to find a Treo cradle at anywhere other than Audi (thats if it is even available!)

Issac Hunt - thanks for that tip - yes, I've managed to connect my Palm Treo 680 via blue tooth and all the numbers on my sim card appear in the dash!!!! excellent.

How much does a phone system like this cost from new?

I think the option was around £400.

Looks like you may be in luck witha cradle if your dealer can find a part number and order one for you. This will only add the ability to charge it, bluetooth gives full functionality apart from charging.

wow, looks like I am a bit lucky after-all - especially after the disappointment and extra cost in obtaining a boot retractable cover and another key fob! Did not

thecount, it looks like you've had luck connecting via BlueTooth - did you find that the Bluetooth connection chime is extremely loud? I can't seem to adjust the volume on the chime and I'm looking for posts regarding this. I've tried volume on both radio and phone, can't seem to find resolution.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks

I like the chime- it's cool, get very strange looks when I get out at car parks though and it disconnects :o

No adjustment to the BT chime is possible.

If the chime is too loud, try another telephone. My Nokia N95 was rubbish and the volume would change at random.
