Hi guys wondered if you could help,

i have the following van:

VW Transporter 1.9 Td (99')

the problem is that i parked it up over night and the following morning it would not start. I also flattended the battery in the proccess. the battery has now been recharged and i checked the oil level it was low so i topped it up. i was told that they have a failsafe on the oil level switch to prevent it starting when the oil level is low.

engine turns over fine, but does not fire. after cranking the engine for a few secs oil light comes on and a buzzer sounds, according to the manual this would deem to be a major problem. i have checked the power to the injectors and fuel solenoid all is ok. could also be a problem with the impact switch cutting off the fuel supply.

any help great appreciated as i have work monday!

Thanks Neil

p.s. i have only had it for 3 weeks and its on 60,000miles

Hi There, I have had exactly the same problem today on same van '99 1.9TD. Managed to get it started with a tow and delivered to my local garage. I will update when I get a call from the garage.
