Golf Mk3 Tdi 1996 Issues

Hi,

I have a golf Tdi on a N reg (144K), Its starts after alot of turning over and then it smokes very bad....really bad and judders like crazy on tick over after a few revs it gets a bit better and then if you drive it it smooths out but still jerks on accelleration it still smokes but not as much from start up....?

Any Ideas

I have changed the Fuel Filter but to no avail...? Could it be a fueling problem, just not sure what it could be...?

ive had the same problem with mine the juddering wen ticking over i a blocked injector and to stop the smokeing all i did was open up the boot and pull out the micro filter in the fuel tank and clean it. it under a black pannel

You also could have a problem with your glow plugs.
I would change the filter 1st as its a lot easier to change.
