Well hello there!

Maybe somebody here can help? The temp gauge on my Golf is doing wierd and wonderful things. Once the car's been running for 5minutes or so, the gauge moves up to half way. This is normal. However, it will later decide to drop back down to nothing, indicating that the car is cold. There is no prob with the radiator so can't understand it.

Any idea why? :aargh4:

More than likely a faulty temperature sensor. I would try replacing it first, they're not an expensive part and are fairly easily changed.

:DAhhh! Hopefully that'll be the answer. Just been on the net and founds that they cost about £25 plus fitting, which isn't bad at all. Cheers Funkmeister! :biglaugh:

i want to tell you that i had exactly the same problem on my car.firstly,i thought it was the wiring near the temp.sensor but unfortunately it was not.and when i was ready to replace the sensor ,the problem just disappeared by itself after a race i had with another car.(max speed, full rpm etc).i dont believe it is the solution just wanted to tell you.:zx11:
