This project started a few years ago when i purchased the car from new when i lived in Germany.

It started life as a STANDARD 1.6 16V EDITION and has evolved into a 2.8 24V V6 with an added punch in the way of a 150 SHOT direct injection wet N2o kit
it is running 222BHP at the moment so with an extra shot of 150 it can pack a bit of a punch to say the least :biglaugh:

;);)

In my spare time i am doing an AUDI A6 with full kit and porker brakes and RS4īs (for my wife) someone who always said WHY, so i think she sort of has the bug now lol

ALL mods i have done myself and the car has NEVER seen the inside of a garage lol
i bought a smashed up 2000 X plate 4motion for 500 quid so my seats and engine were cheep to say the least

so apart from that i think about 2000-2500 quid in total

The turbo conversion i will fit myself so will keep the cost down too

As for SELLING, please don't swear on an open forum :D

the car is also LHD

Andy

EDIT
i purchased the car in march 2001 from new and really got stuck in about 3 years ago

It also goes to show 5 door Golfs can look awesome!! ;)

Hi mate that looks nice im guessing those are Cupra R alloys they look the biz with the red center. Very nice conversion plus with the turbo conversion should be a real weapon.

Think you are right with the Cupra alloys, they look spot on, wonder what they would look like on an 8L A3???? HMMMMMMMM
Lovely Golf though, can't beat black for a stunning finish, nice subtle touches and looks great. Well done.:beerchug:

Thanks guys
the latest thing i am into at the moment is further suspension mods.

i have built and made my own drop links for the FRONT and also making a space frame front sub frame and super light alloy wishbones :D

BUT for now i have done the drop links that will fit ALL the R32, TT, S3 and 4MOTIONīs and as of yet is one of the best "modīs" i have made to it as the ARB knocking was driving me daft, and i am not one to complain about noise running TOYO R888īs as that is part and parcel of GRIP. :approve:

SO here we have the new edition to the car and i am running a GROUP BUY on them over at UK-MKIVS.NET

some details first of all........
Pressed stud bronze lined 1/2" UNF male/female rose joints
sheer limits 42500 Lbs maximum load
+/- 26* of free movement in ANY direction
1/2" UNF nylon lock nuts on both ends inc washers
12mm thick high tensile steel (bright bar)
OEM part weight is 462g and these weight in at 763g EACH
300g is not much of in increase considering what material we are using here people and i can say one thing and that is i would LOVE to see you damage these babyīs on either road OR track use.
no worry of the nylon joints popping out and stuffing any of the surrounding components [:D]
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/DROP%20LINKS/droplink1.jpg
As you can see i have also added heat shrink just to add a little protection to the few threads that are showing above the lock nut and these can be slid down if need be and you some how need to change an end at some point (if that ever happens)
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/DROP%20LINKS/droplink2.jpg
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/DROP%20LINKS/droplink3.jpg
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/DROP%20LINKS/droplink4.jpg

AND one of them fitted
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/DROP%20LINKS/droplink5.jpg

For now i have just the front done as i am waiting for an old 4MOTION rear to turn up and if needs must then i will just buy one to get the dimensions we need to make the same as above for the rear.
ALSO
i am looking at the same style system for you FWD people with ARB hoops so you too can get shot of the crappy OEM plastic joints so stay tuned [;)]
i will get these fitted today as long as the weather holds out and see what they are like in real conditions but donīt foresee and problems

THESE ARE NOT ADJUSTABLE LINKS SO ARE PRE-SET TO THE STANDARD LENGTH OF THE OEM PRODUCT
i will be making another set that i can adjust to see if we can get and ARB tramp dialled out if there is any

What do you think?

Here are some progress pictures of what has been done over the last 2-3 weeks

Spec is 355mm X 28mm 2 piece alloy Brembo bells and Brembo grooved discs.
Rear are 288mm
Callipers are taken from a Ferrari 360 Modena using custom mounting brackets both front and rear

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/FERRARI2.jpg

The front rotors are from the rear of an SLR race car and cost about 400quid EACH and the bells are also Brembo and around 250 quid EACH

The callipers as i have said are from a Ferrari 360 and are the exact same size as the LEON cupra R but have MASSIVE pistons for a much better clamping force and almost zero fade using DS2500 pads both front and rear.

i can do another set the same but using LCR callipers and the same discs if anyone is interested or i also have a set of porker ones that will go over 312mm or even 325mm discs.

355mm WILL need 18" wheels

These are the super light race wheels i managed to get which weigh a staggering 9KG each :Blush2:

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/WHEEL-OZ3.jpg

And here you can see the very fine line between "hummm thats not good" and "LOADS OF SPACE "
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/DentReform/FERRARI11.jpg
i had to have the wheel weights moved as it was touching the calliper enough to transfer the dirt LOL

only the front callipers are Ferrari and the rear brakes retain the factory 4MOTION calliper and uses a Rover V8 284mm front discs so no hand break issues at all :fing02:
