HT Lead Setup

Can anyone verify the HT lead configuratuion on the distributor on an MH Golf 1300cc 1988 MK2.

Take the cap off. Look on the body of the distributor and you will see an arrow, which is the direction of rotation but if you can’t see it, get someone to crank the engine over and see which way it goes. Then look on the thin top edge of the distributor body (where the cap sits against) and there is a notch, this is for number 1. Place the cap back on making a note of which pole on the cap corresponds to the notch. Then go around the cap in firing order in the direction of rotation, the firing order is 1, 3, 4, 2 and number 1 is at the cam belt end.
