Gear problems

Hello there
I am having problem with my A3 99 T Plate 1.8T i am finding it diffucult to get the car into 2nd gear when the car is cold. i have changed the oil and the problem is still there

I have read on the net that A3 normally have this problem. What can i do to sort this problem out

Depends what it is, it could be the gearbox or the clutch needs replacing. Is it only second gear that is hard to get?

Hi got a 2000 xreg vw bora TDI exactly the same problem only when cold, otherwise once warm goes in like a dream. I toyed with the idea of linkage worn, syncro etc. pal of mines got an astra deisel same problem. is your car over 100,000/ think it's either design issue or just wear and tear. A few peopel have complained about this on this site. Anyone had the problem rectified? :aargh4:
