What's the best way of repairing these alloys?

The lacquer's peeled off leaving them looking very sorry for themselves:zx11:

Get them refurbished mate!

the only way im affraid.

stone chip (or similar) had gone through the clearcoat. water then gets in behind this and causes if to bubble, and peel away from the paint.

a rough price is around £45 per wheel.

Ye badly needing refurbed mate. Prices start at about £40 a wheel though sometimes you get what you pay for!!

As said, probs been cuased by a stone chip or curbing and then salt waters got in and corroded the alloy!

What about trying to do them yourself.

I did on my MR2 and 2 looked like yours. 2 hours per wheel and easy if you have a spare.

Mask off tyre, Rough up surface with wet & dry, spray paint (2 layers) then laquer.

This brought the car to life and lasted well the 2.5 years I owned it.

I think I might have a go at that.

What grade(s) wet & dry did you use?

I'll find out for you in a bit, I nicked it from work, will go to the toolroom and have a look what grade it was.

I just used halfords standard metal spray paint to.

I use P120 to get the laquer and paint off.

Then P360 to smooth the surface over prior to painting and between coats of paint and prior to laquering.

you could go finer than P360 to get a better finish, but I wasnt to fussed, it turned out really well.
