Hi

I am looking to change the spark plugs on my 1999 1.6 petrol A3 and the Haynes manual suggests that I have to take off the two-piece inlet manifold. I can access the outer two plugs but the middle two are covered by the manifold.

Does anyone have any tips for changing the plugs without taking it all to bits?

Many thanks

Hi, I recently changed plugs on mine, i spent ages fiddling trying to do the job, ended up having to take off the top half of the manifold, there is just enough room to get them out then :-) It all really straigh forward.
Hope this helps.

Any chance you could knock a guide together for doing this?

Or even better, a guide on how to do a complete service on a 2.0 TDI :D

Just follow your haynes manual on removing upper half of the inlet manifold, its a very acurate description, just bear in mind that if you unplug he throttle body wire you will have to realign it with a vag, haynes doesn`t tell you this.
Have fun....
