i have a 2000 golf with central locking, i have been looking for a while to get this upgraded to a remote central locking system. i have recently purchased a remote key entry kit off ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Remote-Keyless-Entry-for-car-central-lock-UNIVERS-KE60B_W0QQitemZ110244752198QQihZ001QQcategoryZ7532 9QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and i have had this system installed. the remote locking works perfect. i just need now to get the key cut and get the correct parts from my standard key switched over to the flip key fob. i have been quoted £££'s to do this job by lock smiths and am thinking of just getting the key cut and doing the rest myself. i have located the glass chip in the origional key which i understand needs to be transferred into the new fob. but also there is a black piece imbeded into the origional key and i am abit worried as to what this part is? is it another chip? if so what do i do? any help will be great!
