vw t5 engine and stereo questions

Hello there two questions if anyone could help i have a 2004 vw t5 130 lwb with 102000 miles everything is fine with it apart from 3 people stood next to it have said it sounds rough i must admit it is not as quiet as when i got it at 98000 miles am i concerned over nothing or is there something to look out for. Standing next to the identical 07 model it was much quieter by the way it is due an oil change and the noise to me sounds tappety. My next question concerns the stereo i have the standard tape radio at the moment i have just brought the later rcd200 cd tuner all in one which came out of a later model t5 but i ve been told i cant fit it as it is a canbus unit which will only work in the vehicle it came from any advice would be appreciated

Give it the oil change and i'll bet you'll here the difference.
As for the radio, try it, you've two chances, it'll work, or it won't.
