My idle is too low on my 00 beetle 1.8L turbo
does anyone know how to adjust it
I have the rosstech 409.1 full version

Yes my idle needs to be turned up but I do not know how.
I will be reading my haynes manual for the rest of the night; hopefully I find the answer!:aargh4:

Adaptation 10, channel 1. Make a note of the stored value and experiment with a higher value and see what happens. This is not normally necessary though, is your throttle body clean?

It is most likely dirty! The spark plugs looked a little dirty too!

Remove it and gently scrub it out with a stiff nylon brush and aerosol carb cleaner. Re-fit it and run the engine up until it is hot. Turn off, then back on again to ignition on only, engine not running. On VAG-COM, enter Engine 01, Basic Settings 04, Main Group 060 and click “GO” then wait whilst the throttle adapts until ADP OK is displayed in Display Zone 4. Exist Basic Settings, exit Engine 01 and turn off the ignition for 30 seconds. Turn the ignition back on and wait until the TB stops buzzing and then start the engine.

It can also be of benefit to clear the ECU’s learnt values in Adaptation 10, Group 00, read and save BUT this can cause problems with EGR valve adaptation so on your head be it.

no the throttle body is very clean. The idle is too low. There is an Idle control valve.

can i turn that to adjust the idle? its on top of th valve cover by spark plug 2

which way do I turn it?

What is the engine code? Can you post a picture of this part?

078 133 455 D is for idle stabilisation on an Audi V6 engine, the part I think you are referring to is the Secondary Air Injection valve N112 and this is not for idle adjustment, the idle air is solely controlled by the EPC (Electronic Power Control) system, that is the DBW (Drive By Wire) electronic throttle. On some software versions it is possible to raise the idle in Adaptation 10 using VAG-COM, I did this on my Octavia VRS as I found the idle was too low. If you can't take and post a picture of the part, what about getting the part number off it?
