Evening all. I've just joined the forum so please be gentle...

I'm going to be driving a brand new A3 1.9 Tdi Sportback in July. It's a billy-basic engine (105hp) and I'm used to a Passat 1.9Tdi (130hp) so am thinking of getting the A3 'tuned'. There are a few things I'm not sure about so would appreciate some help:

1. If I get the car tuned via an OBD, I wouldn't want the dealer to know I've had it modified when I take it for it's annual service. Can the car be returned to the manufacturers settings and if so, would I have to have the mapping done all over again afterwards?

2. A guy I know in the US has a re-mapped A4 Avant and he is able to switch the re-mapping on or off via a button he has fitted into one of the dashboard blanks. It means he can revert to the manufacturers settings when taking the car to a dealer..Is this type of modification available in the UK?

3. Although no moving parts are affected, what can go wrong if I do have the car 'tuned'?

Thanks all
