new to the world of VW

Hi all!!
New to this board, thought i best say hello before firing some questions.
I have been thinking for a while now about buying a Golf GTI Diesel 150 3DR
I know that i want one of these cars, it has to be black and a 3 door.
Is this a wise choice of car?
What are the main things to look for on a car like this.
Any help, much appriciated.

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. I would do a search of the forum for common problems and read up on some reviews on line, as for black & three doors -no problems there!
