Just joined forum today- looks like a good site, plenty info to wade through.

Got a mkV golf gt tdi- had it since April & think it's great (esp when previous car was 14yr old peugeot 106xnd). Bought car a yr old, vw main dealer- had a few niggles with electic windows, apart from that loving the car though (dealers could be better though).

Great car, love the torque- only problem is there's 170PS version now!

One of my mates has a 650bhp skyline but I'd rather have my motor (i think...).

Hi, have your car's engine remapped and it will do better than the 170 hp motor plus it will return better mpg than your friend's motor at any given time, even if you keep your feets glued to the accelerator. Wellcome to our forum !

Was considering getting the engine chipped. At min torn between that & 18" monza alloy replicas on e-bay, quite a few companies doing them £6-800, compared to £2000 from VW dealer :confused: .
