Right here is the car form when i picked it up . It is a Mk2 Polo Saloon ,

Some work on the car today . Bit of a mission really but was good fun and going back to do soem more tommorow .
I polished the whole car and stripped the interior . I also removed the rear seat frame *i dont know the correct terminology* to get fully stripped out . Forgot to take a photo of when i removed the rear bit fully but il get one tommorow

I'm having a bit of theme with the car . Black on white .

Well got a fair bit done today..first of all here's some better pics of the arches..

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/coolfrontarchshot.jpg

Also got bit more done on the interior.prepped, primered and starting painting the back and suspension turrets- decided to do them black to tie in with the black headlining and carpet and some new black doorcards. Pics:

Not finished yet but will prob tomorrow and give it a good polish once it's dried properly.
Charlie had the idea of using patches to repair some old seats she had lying around so after looking for the sewing machine pedal for about half an hour she set to work and here is what she did!

Fabric was removed, washed and dried then put on fresher back rest foams as old ones were ******.
Rear Badges to tie into the black and white theme..

Another day .. The wagon:

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/P1010326.jpg

Started off the front bumper, masked off for white pinstripe, yes that is micheal jackson in the background...

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/makedfront.jpg

Hole in floor fixed where some numpty had jacked it up wrong. First Charlie cut it out then we made a plate to fit.

Then a bit of welding (Charlie in action) Im teaching her to weld

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/welding.jpg

Finshed welding, has now been ground back with grinder and dremel..

plus we flared/rolled the rear arches..

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/P1010333.jpg

and trimmed the trims down so wheels won't rub when on the car, there's more than half an ich more clearance now.

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/trimmedarches.jpg

Plus we smoothed off all the sharp edges inside from what got cut out the other day- just needs finishin paintin and floor sealed then carpet can go in! :)

Quick update...practically finished paintin the inside today and painted the bumper and clock surround pinstripes white. Sprayed the carpet black and refitted it along with my fresh seats...let us know what ye think...

Lastly. warning to all young padawans, wear eye protection when cutting/grinding/welding or you get a night in A&E like us tonight cause I got a ******* hot piece of metal burnt into my eyeball, nice! I didn't get an eyepatch though, gutted!

Lastly i have given it a 8 hour detail with a compound polish , polish then wax . still go the doorshuts / engine bay / inside to do yet . My arms are rather sore .. lol .

Sneaky peak of the shinyness :-D

Cheers for the comments guys .. I have been hard at work again . About time after a week or two away from it . Too much stuff on with my friends Mk2 Polo Coupe and a mates Mk1 Cabby .. Getting that readdy for some summer driving :biglaugh:

It's been a while, as we've been busy with other Mark2s and the cabby.
So today we picked up where we left off.
Firstly we set about fitting the Mark3 doorcards to the Mark2 doors, with a bit of cheeky modification they went right on

Here's a better piccy of the interior spraying. False floor will be going in to cover the floor pan.
http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc112/steviedavison/IMG_1577.jpg
Managed to get the rear arch trims back on, and put some black carpets in, as the grey ones I dyed were pants . Wouldn't advise ebay carpet spray dye at all.

Hopefully should be cracking on with some more soon :)

looks very nice so far, i'd get a bucket load of leather treatment on those seats though to bring them supple again, they look like my old bmw seats and one day they just split from a crack like that, same place. better to prevent that i reckon.

A polo loon? mk1, mk2 or mk2f?

Be interested to see pics/the build thread if you've got one going?
