Just wondering if anyone else has seen the Zurich Insurance advert on ITV lately? - It shows a woman learner driver setting off in a bright red 05 reg B6 Passat, but as she sets off she releases a normal handbrake:confused:.

Is this a "limited edition " or just a bit of "cut and paste" when making the advert? :dunno:.

That's got to be creative marketing - I'll keep an eye out for it though :)

Yes - spotted that one.

Did you notice they deleted the VW badges back and front?

The 1.9TDI S has a normal handbrake. i.e the cheapest car in the range.

It's interesting that a lot of companys are using PASSATS for thier advertising. Like you said Zurich, and I think Andrex had one too, and there was another one which used a black passat - not sure who that was of the top of my head.

Yes I had one as an Hire car from Europcar. It was a very uncomfortable drive as they had no centre armrest...

Thats not the worst of it - it only have 5 gears and the performance was past bad... unless of course Europcar had a rev limiter fitted... i couldn;'t get it above 3000 without the engine spitting flames...

Domestos - Have you got the exact same car as me ?? :)

And I've had 1.9tdi courtesy Passats - they just don't like revving above about 2500 - after that it's just noise.

Pretty much apart from the heated leather seats...

I thought it would be the expensive ones that had it:p

Seriously though, I'm almost certain the electronic handbrake has always been standard throughout the range.

Maybe you were just having a nice dream:D

In a way I quite like it, but since I bought the car to do a mega-mileage then I'm sure it's going to cost a fortune one day.
