A3 madening idle!!

Hi, looking for some ideas. My yr 2000 A3 1.6 is idleing around 1400 rpm and revs it self up to 1800 rpm and down again, when it feels like it, does it most of the time now. Its had new manifold rubbers and throttle body seal, cleaned out throttle body, no air leaks and ive aligned TB, Vag shows error code 00533.
A cure greatly welcomed.

Yes thanks for that, ive just about checked all i can. I think i need a new throttle body and hopefully that will sort it out.
