View Full Version : A2 Instrument cluster (Clocks)

Hi guys, Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2 'clocks' I have.

1 has a only a blue & green socket in the back co-ordinating with my car's wiring, the other has an extra one (grey), as there is no 3rd plug in my wiring.

Could it be driver information on the latter that is the reason it has 3 sockets? also I plugged the 3 socket one into my car and there is extra info in the little screen in the middle, but as I am still stuck on trying to get the keys coded with my car after the re-build, I cannot ascertain if it WILL work with my car.

I would rather have the extra info clock if it all works with my car's wiring.

Also has anyone had the immobilser de-activated? I would rather install a top end alarm (with in-built immobilser) in my car and put the costs towards that as opposed to paying a lot of money just to get the keys coded.

I have been told that the ECU can be put into 'Free Running Mode' which means no transponder/immobilser issues, has anyone done this?
