Alright, time for all you blokes to put on your thinking hat!
I need a good answer and sorry to say, us Yanks can't get it sorted, so I figured I'd ask on your side of the pond!
If a timing belt breaks on a 2.0L ABA engine, does it eat the valves, too?
The 1.8L was a kind soul that way--lose a timing belt, and after the tow back home, a hour or two, a new belt and wrenches (and Guinness!), and all was right with the world and the car, too.
I've been told that the 2.0 is a 'interference' engine; lose the timing belt, and you can kiss your intake and exhaust valves "good bye"!:aargh4:
So, I'm looking for the voice of experience (or misfortune!) to set this right!
