Can a vw beetle 1998 throttle plate be readapted with out a scan tool???

I had to do the same on my 98 Jetta GLS last week.

Disconnect the ground (earth) cable and let the car sit for 30 minutes.

Some chaps have touched the ground cable to the positive cable to drain it down faster, but they've got more brass than I do on that one!

Next, reattach the ground cable, get in the car and turn the ignition switch to "ON" - Do NOT try to start the car!

Wait 30 seconds while the car gets everything (including the throttle) re-orientated.

Turn the ignition to off, then start the car, and hoist a pint for me, mate!:beerchug:

There - wasn't that simple?
