2000 Pasat same old problem white smoke

So I seem to have the same problem quite a few people are having with differnt cars when they get on this forum white smoke from a 2000 pasat.

It would aslo help if you gave a few more details, such as Petrol or Diesel
, which engine code, etc, and what sort of smoke it is, water, oil , diesel, etc.
