engine wont even turn over!

hi guys, just bought a petrol 1.6 16v leon on a y plate and all was fine. on the drive home today the oil light came on, got home left it for about 2 hours and the immobiliser/locks started acting all funny, finally managed to get into the car and now the engine wont even turn over! have recharged the battery and also topped up the oil but to no avale!

the engine doesnt even start to turn over, just the initial click and then nothing.

Any help much appreciated!

It sounds as though you may have seized it as these engines are prone to losing oil pressure and seizing the camshafts in the cam carrier. You need to see if it will turn over without the starter but be very careful as if it is seized, you could cause more damage. I would try turning it over at the front pulley using a ½ inch drive ratchet, long extension bar and 19-mm 12 point socket. Taking the plugs out will make it easier.
