Ive got an a4 quattro- b6 shape.
Its being a pain in the ****...all the electrics now have an intermittent fault.
Basically the wipers, indicators, climate control and the top part of the dash computer flicker on and off then go off ...for no reason.
Its not speed or "bump" sensitive.
it otherwise runs fine!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!
Ive been to an audi specialist and an good car spark. They both have no idea whats up with it.
Audi are gonna charge me a fortune....before i bite the bullet can anyone help or has anyone experienced similar problems????

Did the Audi specialist run a diagnostic scan on it? I would have thought an electrical short would show up.

Is it a new vehicle? Has the problem occurred recently and can you think of any other work done to it that might have caused the issue i.e. a stereo install or phone car kit?

nope no new work on it..its had a bluetooth car kit in for about 8 months
the scan showed no faults......
Hence why im in trouble......

When did the fault show up?

I guess while the fault is not manifesting itself, the scan shows everything AOK. Is it completely random or do you notice any patterns in the fault occurrence at all?

the fault just came on.
the car had been stood outside in some torrential rain..i think some water got into the electrics..
The car spark checked some relays, found some water and they got replaced but it made no difference.
The fault seemed to go away then came bk intermittently.
The scans showed nothing.
They thought it was the controller box.- the one that throws different frequencys of milliamps down the main central wire..to switch different things on ie lights/wipers etc....
But on replacing it-no change!!!

Have you tried posting to another forum? I find on this one you don't get much in the way of a response.

As a newbie to the Audi world I miss the Subaru forums (ex-WRX owner). Much more helpful.

This forum seems to have a higher participation rate.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

This isn't the same model or problem but I thought it might be relevant:

Something about a dry solder joint on a PCB behind the dash. I know you said it's not "bump" sensitive but it may be an possibility

was u using just a code reader or VAG-COM?? as you can do loads of tests for faults via VAG-COM to locate the problem in the different sections...

If your using VAG-COM let us know how you tested it and i can talk you thought it if you wish..

Cheers
