Hi,

Picked up my 2.0TDI SE last Thursday and decided to go for a quick jaunt up to the Lake District yesterday. I was pleased with the ride and quietness on the motorway. Cruise control was fine as well (not too much traffic that far North). My trip was about 300 miles and the trip computer was claiming 47mpg.

Overall I am very pleased with my car which is standard spec with the addition of B&O sound and cruise control. I have two areas where I am a little disappointed - the seats and clutch. The seats for me are uncomfortable and have insufficient adjustment - just height, backrest angle and for and aft. There is no lumber or seat squab angle adjustment. I wish now that I had ordered the sports seats which I believe are more adjustable. The clutch is too near the clutch foot rest. If you are wearing wide shoes or boots you can catch your foot on the clutch pedal when you are trying to place it on the footrest. If I was doing a lot of in-town driving I can see this being very tiresome.

Looks good in red. The seats are fine for me so far but I agree that more adjustment would be helpful on the standard seats.

I hadn't noticed that I was catching my size 11 feet on the clutch but did think that the rest needed to be a bit higher, seems a long way between the peddle and the rest.

Red is class, but then I'm biased.:D

Totally agree about the clutch / foot rest. It is starting to p**s me off a bit.

Looks very ncie indeedy. Still not sure about them wheels. I guess they'll grow on me.

Where abouts in the lakes is that? Looks a bit Ulswater- ish. The road that runs alongside Ulswater then up onto Kirkstone Pass is a great drive. Nine times out of ten, you cant get over 30mph though for all the super slo-mo tourists

Those pics are looking good. The motor is looking hot and the backdrop is like something out of top gear. I can just picture Clarkson in your SE, racing round the lake against some old fud going across in a rowing boat.

Nice number plate, bet it baffles the old camera vans!

Hi,

The lake is Crummock Water and I drove on past Buttermere and across the Honister Pass. A great scenic drive - even in the rain.

I used a retouching tool to blank out the plates. Not everyone using the internet is as honest as the regular posters here. With identity theft and the like rife I did not want to give any crooks a helping hand.

I used to have a B2 and a B3 Audi 80 in Tornado Red, those were good lookers.

Sweet looking car. I have a B6 and I find the clutch too close to the foot rest as well. Plus it puts you foot at an angle resting on it. Still, if that is all there is to complain about it's ok with me.
