The Service indicator on my 51 plate Audi A3 lights up when I start up the car, stating "Service !"

I have tried using the very helpful guide found elsewhere on this site, but to no avail. Is there another guide anywhere, or does anyone have an idea for me?

It's a 1.9 TDI 110 and is not due a service until August 2008 or 118,000 miles whichever is sooner (mileage is 115,000).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Try this– Switch off ignition.
– Press the reset button for the trip recorder in the instrument cluster and at the same time switch on the ignition.
When you release the trip recorder button the display will show: “SERVICE IN ????Km” or “SERVICE!”.
– Keep the clock adjuster button in the instrument cluster pressed until the display is set back to “SERVICE IN ????KM” or “SERVICE!”.
The display will show: “SERVICE IN 15,000 km”.
– Switch off ignition.

Wow it worked!! Thank you very much indeed!

However, I feel it is wrong. The service centre says 118,000 miles (car has done 115,000) and the Audi Service Indicator states 9,300 miles.

If resetting is performed without -V.A.G 1551- or -VAS 5051-, this will automatically set a fixed interval (15,000 km) for servicing.
