Turbo question

Hey there guys, i picked up my a4 today (2000, AJL Engine) just wondering if its normal not to be able to hear the turbo? The car is still boosting and power is fine but i cant hear it like i could in my old golk mk4. Should i be worried or is the quietness of the turbo normal?

Maybe that the A4's a little more descrete than a golf.... kinda not as "in your face". I've previously had a 1.8T and presently running a 2.7 biturbo S4 and don't think I have ever heard the turbos. Occationally, with the window open and my foot firmly placed on the loud pedal I can just about hear a "whistle". Sounds to me like yours is running fine.

I was hoping that would be the case, it figures that Audi would be more discreet, the Golf was a loudish whisle complimented by a flutter on changing gear! cheers for the quick response!
