Too many posts regarding VAG-COM and so many different versions it's making my mind boggle.

How easy is it to do adaptations, such as adjusting the throttle body? Do you need to know what you're doing, or will the program calibrate everything for you if you tell it to?

If this is an easy home-use tool, where would be be possible to get VAG-COM plus required cable(s) in the UK, without costing £200 - £300 +. Many links seem to be American versions, which I'm unsure of.

I have a 2000 Audi A3 1.6 Sport. Can anyone help me please?

Thanks,

Omega :1zhelp:

VAG com software MUST be purchased directly from ross-tech. a license only will cost $99.

http://www.ross-tech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=VAGCOM

however you can download a free (but limited) version to do more basic tasks.

you can buy aftermarket cables from ebay, or eshrules (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=26918) who is a supporting member here, and cost around £16. these cables will only with with version 409.1. the newer versions of vag com require ross-tech cables to enable the software.

i cant help you with the more techy stuff, as i dont know.
