passat locking

when i use remote to lock 1998 passat the car locks but if i pull on door handle it unlocks. sometimes the windows will go down.
Whats happening. Can it be repaired ?

Might be worth posting in the Passat section.

Not heard of this myself but am still relatively new to VW.

I am however surprised at the electrical faults I see on them, my 1983 Mondial has less :D

Sounds awfully like connections to your CCM are intermittent. I think you will need to get someone to check the connections for corrosion and clean them up.

Hopefully that will be as bad as it gets...
