Hi, i'm new to this but looking at all the topics has been really intersesting. I have a query regarding using a TOMTOM 520 satnav. It's supposed to last 5 hours on battery but i never get any more than 2 hours so need to power it. that means trailing an awful looking cable from it to the cigar lighter which gets in the way of the gear stick. I enquired at the audi dealer about getting the cable hard wired in as i know they offer this service for the road angel but they said they couln't do it as they don't sell tomtom ??! anyone know if its a simply job and how best to do it ?

I think you can get a 12v boot kit that basically provides a 12v connection in your boot. Could you use this in some way so that instead of placing it in the boot, you place it under the dash for the sat nav power cable.

That way you'll have less cable showing and you would free up your front 12v connection.

Vag parts do it for £20 and comes in Beige, Dark Grey, Blue and Black.
