door creaking mk4

Hi,
Wondering if anyone has experience of the driver's side door making clunking noises when braking/accelarating?
Seems to be the door hinge has worn as there is play when the door is lifted up and down.
Is it a matter of changing the door pin?

My Bora does the same on the passenger front door. Took the door card off and there's nothing obvious, but as the window regulator plate appears to be rivetted in, I left things alone.

I think the bottom hinge/check strap may be a suspect but
as I've no idea what the problem is and won't go near a dealer I just turn the radio up!:confused:

Will ask my local VW dealer when it goes in for a service next month.

They have been known to sort things out FOC.
