Lupo door handle not flush

Following an intermittent problem with the central locking, I have removed the door locks to clean and grease them. Since removing the retaining Torx-15 screw and door lock on the passenger door, the door handle no longer sits flush to the car - it is raised by approximately 5mm from it's normal position. I have tried adjusting the door release cable which is connected to the handle, but I can't get the handle back to it's original position. The handle is fine on the drivers side, after removing/refitting the lock.

Any ideas what could be causing this? How is the door handle removed?
