I understand why everyone who is told that this or that is not available is frustrated or annoyed but, believe it or not, I do have some sympathy for Audi.
Until 1999 I worked for a company in the North of England that manufactured a high-temperature tape that was supplied to the German company Leistritz for insertion into the catalytic converters it manufactured for Audi and Mercedes. Due to antiquated machinery and an even more antiquated attitude to customers, especially 'foreigners', we frequently ran out of stock and had to let Leistritz down. When I tried, as the rep who had to deal with our unfortunate agent in N. Germany, to sort out the problem with the factory manager (Yes, Peter, I mean YOU), I got told to "go forth and multiply".
When I eventually order my A4 2.0 TDI SE, it will have £6,000 of options on. I'll be hoping for a delivery date before B9 is announced.
