1.9TDi Caddy turbo problems

Hi everyone

I have a 02 Plate 1.9 Tdi Caddy van (stylish I know). On occasions the turbo doesn't work. If you switch it off, restart it, it resets itself and works ok.....for a while. Has anybody got any ideas whats going on?

If you have a fault code scan done, you will get code 17965, an over boost error. This will be down to the boost adjustment vanes on the turbo sticking. The best solution is to remove, strip and clean the exhaust side of the turbo but occasionally a new turbo is required.
