pedal box failure

is it as common on ibizas as it is mk4 polos for the pedal box to crack?

my other halfs after a new car and a 98-2000 ibiza is on her list of possibles

have just replaced a pedal box on 2002 ibiza chill with 50k on clock. Pedal box had split completely. New clutch fitted at same time, as old one was very heavy.:(
