I'm not exactly sure if I am posting in the right place or not...
I have a 2004 Jetta TDI. When I turn the key part way (so that the glow plugs activate), I have started hearing a strange noise. A whir, or maybe a scraping sound. It only does it for at most 2-3 seconds, and then it stops. After that everything seems fine. Car starts and runs normally. Am wondering how serious a problem that is though. And wondering what is causing it.
Any ideas?
