should just be a an iline loom for the radio, take the radio out and then disconnect the loom from the back. Then follow the loom to the next connection and disconect that. That bit of loom you took out is for the phone and the wires still connected should go to the armrest/pass side of the dash depending where your phone kit is postioned.

The best thing for the ipod is to get the unit that slots into where the CD changer goes in the glovebox.

If its a standard fitted head unit you need some removal pins (to do it properly) you can get these on ebay or from any good car mod shop / halfords?? only cost about £3. they slot into two small holes in your cd/radio player vertical or horisontal. i had a chorus 2 in my A3 and mine were horisontal. slot them in and when you pull them out the unit should come with. pritty simple and takes like 20 seconds. then you can get to the back. ;)
