Hi
This is my first post. I feel welcome already.
I bought my Bora 2 days ago ( 52 plate from a local garage ).
Today on my way to work, the clutch pedal stayed depressed to the floor.
This happened at a roundabought when I was stationary.
The RAC guy said it was the slave cylinder and got me going, by lifting the pedal, to the garage I bought the car only 100metres away from where I had stopped.
Following discussions, the slave cylinder will be replaced.
Before purchasing the car I said I could feel a slight vibration through the clutch pedal on depressing it.
The car is with the garage at present being fixed.
My question is ...The RAC guy inferred that the clutch may be waring also because of the cylinder problem.
Do I ask the garage to look at the clutch also or just accept the problem was isolated to the slave cylinder??
I am new to VW cars its my first.
The rest of the car is brilliant, I,m very pleased with the purchase.
Is it a common problem and should I be concerned??
The car has been serviced by VW dealer and has had one owner.
Regards
brianboratdi.

Clutch master cylinders regularly fail on the Golf 4 platform as do the pedals themselves. What power engine is in your Bora?

I would expect that to be the master cylinder. The slight vibration as you put your foot on the clutch is normal.
