nope. I've done 25,000 miles on the original tyres, but mainly motorway.

Are you giving it some and also wheel spinning or turining the traction control off?

Crikey !

25K is good for front tyre wear I struggle to get 17K and do mostly motorway work. To get this mileage your right foot must be as gentle as the brush of an angels wing !!

Rob,

Is the wear even across the tyre or have you worn out the insides?

I had a quartro before my current A6 (now changing to new A4) and that used to eat tyres but even then I alway got about 15000 miles or so. If the wear is uneven I would go back to the Audi garage and get it checked over.

Good Luck

Nick

I've got a 3.0 TDI quattro, and done 16k miles so far on the original tyres, reckon they will see 20k at least before need replacing...

Hi, I curently own an A4 S line B7 had it from new, came with Contisport tyres managed 18,000 on the fronts, bald when they were replaced. Have only done 7,000 on this set and will need replacing in the next 2,000 new Conti rubber must be softer, won't be my problem as I have orderd a new A4 S Line.
Cheers J.

Might be as they are the crappy Michelin Sport tyres. I hate them as when i go round corners with enthusiasm, i get some bad understeer. I know its purely down to the tyres. The best std fit tyres were the Pirelli P Zero's. But i'd recommed the Toyo Proxes T1-S.

Hi, I have the same problem - factory fitted Conti's on the front nearly done with only 8k miles.........mostly country/town driving though.

Has anyone got any suggestions on the best to go for to get good performance and wear? Have heard Bridgestone 050's good, anoy thoughts? :1zhelp:

I spy something beginning with Q :p

It's the reason your front tyres should last a little longer and it's also one of the reason you should never wheel spin! That heavy 3.0 lump does cause the car to try to understear if you give it beans round corners and that really does murder the tyres!

Quattro & ESP aside; if you're gentle round the bends, don't give it beans everywhere, your tracking and geometry is all correct; your tyres should last 20K!
