Hey all! new to this forum!! and am in need of some help!

Have got a mk2 89 Gti golf and at some point the header tank has boiled... causing alot of the engine wiring to get wet and over time has corroded and snapped off.... does anybody have a GOOD picture of the wiring in one of these? have several cables snapped off and no idea where they go....

Any help would be much appreciated!

What are the colour codes of the wires and where are they in the bay?

Sorry for the delay in updating the post! erm theres 2 wires on the altenater, one is red which goes straight to the positive on the battery, the other is a very thin blue cable which is snapped! no idea where it goes! there is some other cables but il update as and when i get to them! battery doesnt seem to charge either so im assuming the blue cable is the earth off the alt?

That’s easy, that is the alternator warning light wire, the connector should be near to the positive battery terminal.

Connected the blue wire back up and now the battery light comes on! The outside temp senser doesnt seem to work... was wondering where the wire and sensor is located?

it was working ok up until about 2-3 days ago now when u go onto it with the mfa it just skips it... I have removed the front bumper other than that aint changed anything

The sensor is pluged into a hole in the left front wing from behind, under the bumper clip.
