cant see it working tbh, probably just end up with more dangerous cars on the roads.

I own a recovery truck that doesn't actually need an MOT (it is exempt) but I still have it MOT'd every year as a sort of annual safety check.
2 years....Bad idea IMO.

good idea!

should be better than at the moment, here in n.ireland any way you cant get the car tested at local garages you have book into a test centre usualy go on a waiting list and recently they started giving out exemption forms as the waiting list was on to three months.

they should introduce somthing like...
you need to take your car to a garage once a year for a safety check and advice.
then once every 2 years for an mot.

i dont think it will cause any more wrecks to be allowed on the road as ive seen some bad cars passing the mot with fillers hiding hole in sills and subframes, and getting oil wiped from engines right outside the test centre.

the wrecks will be around no matter how frequent the mot occurs!
