oil warning light golf gti 18T (1999)

hi all. i have searched the forums but cant find much about this.
so sorry if its there.

My oil warning light is coming on but only when i'm going at speed.
i can quite easily get by on a normal day to day jpurney without it coming on at all but when i want to drive a little harder the4 oil light comes on . and stays on after that

i had an oil and filter change today hoping it might sort it out but it didnt...any ideas anyone?

Not sure mate. Have you noticed the engine getting louder when the oil light is on?
If not, maybe (hopefully) just a faulty sender.

deffinatly not getting any louder. it still drives fine.

does it not seem odd it only comes on at speed though to be a sender? or is that normal?...i sure hope its only a sender

I had a friend with a fiesta XR2 that had a similar problem. The oil pick up and tube to the pump was partly blocked. We had to take the sump off and clean it out.
