Hi Guys,
I'm after a gearbox for my 1999 1.9tdi.
Here's the storey;
i bought her under the weather with no history knowing nothing about the car for too much money and was too lazy to do anything about it! YES! The gearbox was knackered when i bought it for £2500. Stupid i know, but i test drove it around Stockport and never thought to try fifth gear, it was only when i got on the motorway when i tried to select fifth nowt happened, the engine just revved away, i was fed up with being in stockport all day getting the ******* to replace fuses and tax and fix washers etc, and didn't want to turn round and take the car back, he'd given me three months warrenty so it thought that would cover it. No! The warrenty was only for £150 with £50 excess, so i didn't even bother as i had no more money to put towards it (just spent it all on the car). I've put up with now for 10,000 miles in the four months that i've had her, no more problems, even fuel is ok £53 just got me 512 miles. I'm now on the hunt for a second hand gearbox.
