leaking head gasket

Hi,

I have a 2001 Golf GL. I have just put on a new head gasket for the second time and it still leaks! Is there something particular for VW's that I need to know? I have done head gaskets on other cars but not a VW before. :zx11:

DID THE CAR OVERHEAT WHEN THE HEADGASKET WENT OR ANYTIME BEFORE

DID YOU GET THE HEAD SKIMMED ON EITHER OCCASION THE HEAD WAS OFF

Jezzer is right. Get the head checked. You may have a crack in it also.

Thanks everyone for their input on the headgasket problem. I was able to finally fix it. I used new bolts and put more torque on them and it seems to work fine now. However, the car will not go past 3000 RPM's. The check engine light was on, so I checked it with the code reader. The code says Camshaft positioning sensor. Anyone had this problem before? Does the sensor actually need to be replaced or is this an indication of something else?
