Hi,
I Have 1.8 Gti T
Just Lately The Temp Gauge Drops Right Down Then Goes Back Up.
No Water Loss At All,
Any Ideas,

Check your medication is green, not black :D

You're welcome. If your moniker refers to your hands, I hope you're not a surgeon ;)
If it is the temperature sensor (you can check VAG-COM fault codes), the medication you probably require is;
059.919.501.A [dual temperature sensor/sender, green not black]
032.121.142 [retaining spring, in case you damage the original one]

cheers, ill hav a look at it, not d worst of my problems rite now tho, still hav to change a wheel, get one repaired, find oil leak, figure out why my dash lights dim wit the engine, buy a second door lock, a load of electrical bulbs, includin rear window heater elements.....nd drive it off a cliff

reading the above and the links, seems like my mk4 has the same problem, can anyone tell me the locatation the sensor?

hi,
looking at the engine its on the right hand side,
of the block,its got a push on block,just under the wireing block there is a push in clip it just holds the sensor in place,very easy to do,about £10 on ebay,i was told to buy the green sensor instead of black i don't know why,
