 Hi all
Ive just recently bought a golf v5 on a 51 plate, and ive just noticed when steering the car it can become noisy as if the power steering pump is struggling to cope its like a buzzing noise... Also might be a pathetic question but where is the power steering fluid reservoir its not at all obvious and the hand book doesnt tell you anything about power steering... Please somebody help......:1zhelp:

Power steering reservoir is usually on top of offside engine mount and has a green coloured lid. Fluid level can be checked by removing the lid and checking on dipstick which is attached.

Rather than condemning pump or steering rack, is fluid level too low or is drive belt worn or correctly tensioned?

If you need to top level up make sure you use correct fluid and if it does need topping up, check for leaks!

Hope this helps.
