Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I have a 1999 S3 which is currently running on a set of BBS 19 inch alloys. I feel that this slides a lot when corning - not even at speed . I am comparing this to my S4 which had 18s.
Does anyone know if the handling suffers alot because of the large alloys?
If so am I best buying 17s or 18s?
Please let me know
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for that, it's good tyres I'm running as that had occured to me too. They cost me £200 a tyre a few months ago when I had to change them cause the tracking was out. The guy said it's the same size and tyre as the current Ferrari uses - not that that made me feel better about the price

Hi Sandy,
The 19s will definitley affect the handling of the S3.....As a general rule, the larger you go above the manufacturers orginal size, the more the suspension geometry will be affected, and consequently the handling.
I have heard that the even facelifted models (2001) suffered slightly with the 18s fitted by Audi, in comparison to the 17 inch Avus wheels fitted to the original 1999 models.....mine is still running the 17s and it handles like a dream!
Hope this helps!

Hi Jim
Thanks for this. I had assumed that but didn't want to buy a set of 17s if it would make no difference.
Thanks again
